DECISION No. 208/1998/QD-TTg of October 26, 1998 on the setting up of the Steering Committee for implementation of new tax laws

To set up the Steering Committee for implementation of new tax laws, which is composed of Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung as its Head; Minister of Finance as its Deputy Head; and 9 members who are representatives of the concerned ministries and branches.

The Steering Committee for implementation of new tax laws shall have the following tasks and powers:

- To direct the ministries, branches and localities to implement the Law on Value-Added Tax, the Law on Enterprise Income Tax, the Law on Special Consumption Tax and other new tax laws according to their respective assigned State management functions;

- To assist the Prime Minister in detecting and settling problems in the course of implementation of new tax laws and sub-law documents; it shall have to report cases beyond its competence to the Government and the National Assembly Standing Committee for consideration and settlement in accordance with the current regulations.- (Summary)
